1. Good Evening Badlands: As the shadows get longer and colors get deeper, the song of the meadowlark turns gradually to the howl of the coyote.
2. Wind Carver: The Woodcarver's Museum in Custer, SD displays some of the world's finest wood carvings. The Badlands display the Wind Carver's use of wind water, volcanic ash and time. Truly a masterpiece.
3. Blue Trails: Not to be confused with "Happy Trails." Inspired by the thundering hooves of the buffalo.
4. Yesterday's Ballroom: On the second floor of the Alex Johnson Hotel in Rapid City, SD you will find the well preserved, Yesterday's Ballroom. The Architecture, as well as Big Bands of times past were the inspiration
5. Dancing Horse: After your visit to Hot Springs, SD, go south to the I.R.A.M. Wild Horse Sanctuary. These Mustangs were rescued from feed lots and brought here to roam free.
Also a special thanks to the "Dancing Horse" Coffee House on Main St., New Castle, WY, for the name. I'll be playing there, on one Saturday evening each month. Call 307 746-4517 for reservations.
6. Song Perch: In the Badlands, every Juniper and Spire is a song perch for the meadowlark, currently my favorite song bird.
7. Enchilada Sonata: The name for this piece was inspired by three types of enchiladas; cheese, chicken, and beef.
8. Triumph of True Love: The true love that the beautiful country girl from Shulem had for her shepherd boy, could not be broken by the wealthy King's offer of gold and silver. This music was inspired by the "Song of Songs."
9. One Summers Eve: Imagine the relief that the evening breeze brings to the Badlands.
10. Dakota Badlands: Never having learned to read or write music, since the age of eight I have relied heavily upon imagination and creativity to capture the feelings of my surroundings and translate them into music. I hope you enjoy this collection of feelings and emotions.
